POSITION SUMMARY

S & B Infrastructure, Ltd. is seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to join our esteemed affiliate, TAI Engineers. This role is based in Houston, TX, and involves executing Marine Engineering tasks across all stages of mechanical development and equipment design for large-scale projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in conventional Marine Engineering practices and apply independent judgment in the assessment, selection, and significant adaptation of standard design engineering criteria, methods, and procedures.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

0-5 years of relevant Engineering experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Senior Engineer in various tasks and projects.
  • Conduct design evaluations and assess constructability.
  • Address technical challenges and oversee information management throughout the design and construction phases of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Generate engineering reports and documentation, including charts and graphs to present findings.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively communicating with clients and colleagues.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY

Competence in mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional field visits to operational plants or construction sites may be required. This entails normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and maintain balance, as well as clear vision at various distances. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The typical work environment is an office setting with moderate noise levels. There may be occasional assignments to operational plants or on-site offices for project durations, which could involve exposure to outdoor weather, loud noises, and working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibrations, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
