Position Overview
This role is pivotal in overseeing new construction initiatives, modification projects, and providing support for salvage operations.

About Chevron
Chevron Shipping Company seeks exceptional graduates in the fields of Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or closely related areas who are eager to engage in complex marine projects. These projects encompass everything from concept selection and design to the construction and operation of tanker vessels and offshore production facilities within the oil and gas sector. Chevron Shipping delivers engineering and technical support to a fleet comprising approximately 30 trading tankers and LNG carriers, alongside various floating offshore oil production ventures globally.

Key Responsibilities
This Marine Engineering and Systems Specialist position will collaborate with team members to offer marine engineering and naval architecture services for Chevron Shipping's LNG carriers, crude oil carriers, product carriers, and floating assets (FPSO, FSO, FLNG, FPUs, etc.).

Development Program
This position is integral to the Chevron Shipping Horizon Engineering program. The successful candidate will be required to relocate as necessary for business requirements, with typical rotations lasting between 6 to 18 months over a five-year period. The core rotations will include Houston and San Ramon, with further details provided upon selection. Upon completion of the program, the Marine Engineering and Systems Specialist will transition into a Marine Technical role based in Houston.

Marine Technical & Projects Rotation
The Marine Technical & Projects (MTP) group supports the Corporation's offshore floating oil and gas production/storage facilities. This group provides engineering, marine technology, consulting, and management services throughout all project phases, from design and construction to installation and operation.

Engineering, Projects, & Alterations Rotation
The Engineering Projects & Alterations (EP&A) group aids the Corporation in oil and gas transportation. This group delivers engineering, consulting, and project management services for Chevron's fleet of oil and LNG tankers across all project phases, from design and construction to operational management.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0 to 5 years of industry experience.
Additional Considerations
  • Domestic and international travel is a requirement.
  • Availability outside of standard working hours may be necessary.
  • Participation in the Chevron Shipping Salvage & Response Team (requires 24-7 on-call duty on a rotational basis).
  • Relocation assistance is available.
  • Ability to physically work in an industrial environment visiting assets.

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
