Role Summary:

The PSD Engineering Technical Lead will provide essential technical guidance to team members engaged in investigating non-conforming part issues. This role focuses on identifying root causes through thorough analysis of drawings and part layouts. The Technical Lead will play a pivotal role in daily technical operations, ensuring effective problem resolution and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct root cause analysis for problem items, ensuring parts conform to specifications.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, addressing and escalating issues while implementing effective countermeasures.
  • Ensure that NARS reports and technical summaries clearly communicate concerns based on data evaluation.
  • Lead investigations and preventative measures for assigned issues to ensure effective containment.
  • Analyze parts through dimensional layouts and design reviews to identify causes from manufacturing or supplier sources.
  • Oversee NARS report accuracy and lead the review of previous shifts' reports to address gaps.
  • Confirm sorting operation standards and ensure communication with suppliers regarding quality issues.
  • Coordinate daily quality assurance activities with sorting contractors and suppliers.
  • Support technical training and mentorship for associates.
  • Lead high-impact repair projects, coordinating resources effectively.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Expertise in quality assurance, blueprint interpretation, and part measurement.
  • Proficiency in Catia/3D modeling and MS Office applications.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Capability to summarize complex analyses and implement countermeasures.
  • Understanding of Honda's philosophy and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Skills in fostering teamwork and valuing professional relationships.
  • Experience in training associates in problem-solving methodologies.

Additional Position Factors:

This role involves working in an open office environment, with responsibilities that may include walking, sorting parts, and occasional overtime.
