Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified individual to lead strategic engineering initiatives within our powertrain manufacturing sector, focusing on achieving excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics. This role involves overseeing manufacturing principal engineers, providing technical direction for production lines, and managing the overall investment strategy for the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive leadership and mentorship to manufacturing Principal Engineers in mass production engineering.
  • Develop and implement the department's investment strategy aligned with long-term production schedules and operational conditions.
  • Serve as the technical evaluator for all new model and investment projects within the department.
  • Design and execute engineering staffing and development plans for the department.
  • Act as a technical expert to support other North American engine manufacturing facilities.
  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across the department.

Candidate Profile:

Required Experience:
A minimum of 10 years in a manufacturing environment is essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Honda systems including production operations and investment processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of precision manufacturing machine operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires onsite work, with approximately 80% in an office setting and 20% in a manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional travel (up to 5%) may be required.
  • Willingness to work 5-10 hours of overtime per week as needed.
