Anesthesia Technician Specialist

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in the Operating Room team, working under the supervision of the Lead RN and Nurse Manager to perform specialized tasks that support all aspects of the department.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Excellence/Patient Care- Transport patients throughout the operating room department
- Deliver blood products, specimens, and other essential items
- Prepare OR cases, ensuring proper anesthesia-related equipment is available and medication and equipment are readily available for subsequent cases
- Assist anesthesiologists during procedures, including inserting infusion lines and setting up special equipment for major surgical cases
- Pull instruments, set up cases, and order equipment/supplies
- Perform detailed terminal cleaning of anesthesia equipment
- Process and sterilize anesthesia accessories
- Ensure all anesthesia supplies are stocked
- Learn and understand the basics of all equipment used by anesthesiologists
- Remove defective equipment from use and inform Lead RN, Biomedical, and/or Materials departments
- Provide secretarial duties, including answering phones, relaying messages, processing and distributing mail, posting announcements, filing, and record maintenance
- Schedule and communicate scheduling changes to operative schedules and staff call schedules
- Manage and place orders for department office supplies and copy center needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certification
