Job Overview

The Senior Vice President of Asset Management will be responsible for the comprehensive management of assets within a diverse portfolio that includes new developments and ongoing construction projects, as well as overseeing lease-up processes and the management of stabilized properties.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Managing Director of Portfolio Management.

Team Leadership: The VP will lead a team of Asset Management analysts, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance their productivity and effectiveness. This role requires collaboration across various departments including Development, Construction, Accounting, Operations, Leasing & Marketing, Investor Relations, and Capital Markets.

Key Responsibilities: The following duties outline the primary responsibilities of this role and may evolve as organizational needs change:
  • Oversee the construction, lease-up, compliance, and ongoing management of a designated portfolio of properties.
  • Manage portfolio modeling, valuation, and summary analysis, presenting findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the operations team to supervise leasing and budgeting processes while reporting significant strategic changes or variances.
  • Conduct investment analysis, including data input, market rate rent formulation, and scenario modeling.
  • Guide hold/sell recommendations and assist in managing property refinancing or sales.
  • Engage with appraisers to manage and review annual property valuations.
  • Prepare comprehensive quarterly and annual reports on asset performance for investors, ensuring accuracy in collaboration with accounting and development teams.
  • Respond promptly to special information requests from investors and capital clients.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and document findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating budgets, tax returns, and annual audits for the portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all entities involved with the assets.
  • Lead effective communication with partners through various channels.
  • Enhance the value of real estate assets through strategic execution of business plans.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate investment management.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Robust analytical skills suitable for the responsibilities assigned by the Head of Portfolio Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and leadership abilities.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • Extensive experience and proven success in commercial real estate finance and investment analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
