SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:


The Senior Financial Analyst for Sales is a vital member of the Global Support Center Sales Finance Team, providing essential support to both field and local finance stakeholders.

This role necessitates strong collaboration and strategic partnerships with other key Sysco teams, including Sales, Supply Chain, SBS, Commercial Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis, to understand, drive, execute, and deliver favorable financial outcomes for local sales.

Key responsibilities encompass financial oversight of local sales performance, focusing on market share expansion, profitability, critical metrics, forecasting, and Annual Growth Plan (AGP) development.

Additionally, this position emphasizes customer retention, strategic execution, and collaboration with Sales leadership.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Market Share Growth - Provide strategic input and contribute to financial oversight, including tracking initiatives through the creation and monitoring of comprehensive business cases.


Financial Modeling – Extract data to create decision-making opportunities, report results, and conduct ad hoc sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling.

Problem Solving - Address and resolve escalated issues while communicating solutions. Collaborate with internal teams and Sales Leaders to communicate results and provide recommendations for process and control improvements.


Financial Analysis - Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver value-added insights that drive necessary actions through financial analytics and business performance metrics.

This includes leading and collaborating on cross-functional Margin Improvement initiatives and participating in key Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews.

Performance Monitoring - Review dashboards, KPIs, and analyze reports. Ensure segment performance of Local Sales and related initiatives, strategies, and goals are met. Communicate key risks and opportunities each period, ensuring alignment with other functions.

Communication - Ensure adherence to deadlines, check-ins, and priorities align with company objectives. Participate in Sales Leaders' staff meetings to communicate financial performance.


Compliance - Ensure adherence to Sysco's Accounting Policies and Procedures (e.g., FAMM) and US GAAP, including SOX controls for assigned Local Account Customers.

Monitor compliance of assigned Local Customers with our Master Services Agreement and identify opportunities for improvement as necessary.


Strategy - Actively participate in strategic partnership meetings and contribute to the design, compliance, and control of significant Local Sales or Customer Experience transactions.


Continuous Process Improvement & Alignment - Collaborate with others within and outside the function to identify, develop, and implement process improvement plans, streamline operations, reduce costs, and ensure timely and accurate completion of work.

Relationships - Manage relationships with cross-functional peers, leadership, and external customers as applicable. Collaborate with Sysco Global partners to ensure strategic alignment on proposals and provide the Executive Team with a comprehensive view of Customer's P&L.

Financial Planning/Forecasting – Assist in managing the overall budget for the assigned segment. Partner with relevant teams to ensure all accounting matters are accurately assessed, communicated, and included in the forecast.

This includes building, supporting, and executing the Field Annual Growth Plan (AGP) for all assigned Local Sales Customers, as well as providing monthly volume and profitability forecasts to FP&A.


Presentations - Prepare executive-level presentations such as regional and market Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and AGP in a clear and concise manner to facilitate timely decision-making while communicating risks and opportunities to drive optimal outcomes for the organization.

This includes presentations to the Sysco Executive Leadership Team and Local Sales Senior Leadership Team.

Special Projects - Engage in other ad-hoc projects as requested by executive management and other leadership roles.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:


BA or an equivalent combination of education and experience (5+ years) sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.


1-3 years of experience in a corporate environment, with a focus on reporting development, financial planning and analysis, business analytics, and financial modeling.

Strong commercial focus, with exposure to multiple business functions and excellent business partnering skills.

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).

Advanced proficiency in Excel preferred (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.).

Technical skills preferred (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, etc.).

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Demonstrate strong, proactive problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate across various levels of the organization.

Collaboration skills to work with business groups outside of Finance.

Strong attention to detail.

Knowledge of Food Service preferred.

Understands team dynamics and works well within a team structure. Collaborative management style and a strategic team player. Effectively delegates responsibilities and recognizes the value others bring to the organization.

Exhibits a high level of integrity, ethical standards, and accountability.

Capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, able to handle pressure well, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and influence business decisions using appropriate, fact-based financial information.

Demonstrates excellent subject matter knowledge of and experience with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley Act, and the ability to learn Sysco technology software and programs or equivalent products.


Ability to work in a disciplined, consistent, timely, and objective manner, capable of following established policies, procedures, and practices.

Complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
