SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Financial Analyst for Local Sales plays a pivotal role within the Global Support Center Sales Finance Team, providing essential support to both field and local finance stakeholders. This position necessitates robust collaboration and strategic partnerships with various Sysco teams, including Sales, Supply Chain, SBS, Commercial Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis, to comprehend, drive, execute, and enhance financial performance for local sales. Key responsibilities encompass financial oversight of local sales outcomes, including market share enhancement, profitability, critical metrics, forecasting, and Annual Growth Plan (AGP) formulation. Additionally, the role emphasizes customer retention, strategic execution, and collaboration with Sales leadership.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Market Share Enhancement: Provide insights on strategies and contribute to financial oversight, including tracking all initiatives through the development and monitoring of comprehensive business cases.
- Financial Modeling: Extract data to create decision-making opportunities, report results, and conduct ad hoc sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve escalated issues, ensuring effective communication of resolutions. Collaborate with internal teams and Sales Leaders to convey results and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Financial Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver value-added insights that drive necessary actions through financial analytics and business performance metrics. Lead and engage in cross-functional Margin Improvement initiatives and key Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Performance Monitoring: Review dashboards, KPIs, and analyze reports to ensure segment performance aligns with local sales initiatives, strategies, and objectives. Communicate key risks and opportunities regularly.
- Effective Communication: Ensure adherence to deadlines and priorities aligned with company objectives. Participate in Sales Leaders' meetings to discuss financial performance.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to Sysco's Accounting Policies and Procedures and US GAAP, including SOX controls for assigned Local Account Customers. Monitor compliance with Master Services Agreements and identify improvement opportunities.
- Strategic Engagement: Actively participate in strategic partnership meetings, contributing to the design, compliance, and control of significant Local Sales or Customer Experience transactions.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify, develop, and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate relationships with cross-functional peers, leadership, and external customers as applicable. Collaborate with Sysco Global partners for strategic alignment on proposals.
- Financial Planning and Forecasting: Assist in managing the overall budget for the assigned segment, ensuring all accounting matters are accurately assessed and communicated in forecasts.
- Presentation Preparation: Develop executive-level presentations for regional and market reviews, ensuring clarity and conciseness to facilitate timely decision-making.
- Special Projects: Engage in ad-hoc projects as requested by executive management and other leadership roles.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (5+ years) sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions.
- 1-3 years of experience in a corporate environment, focusing on reporting development, financial planning and analysis, business analytics, and financial modeling.
- Strong commercial acumen with exposure to various business functions and excellent business partnering skills.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
- Advanced Excel skills preferred (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization).
- Technical skills preferred (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication across various organizational levels.
- Collaborative skills to engage with business groups outside of Finance.

- Knowledge of the food service industry preferred.
