Job Overview

HR Works is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to support its client, a multi-faceted non-profit organization, in Rochester, NY. This is a direct placement opportunity with a compensation range of $75,000-$85,000.

The Role

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for administering daily HR operations, including labor relations, talent acquisition, employee retention and engagement initiatives, and performance management and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and union dynamics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer daily HR operations, including labor relations, talent acquisition, employee retention and engagement initiatives, and performance management and development.
  • Partner with managers in learning and development initiatives to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to be successful in their roles.
  • Manage communication with union representatives, address concerns, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Conduct HR investigations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and administer training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with HRIS system to ensure accurate and efficient data management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience in a mid-sized organization, with 5+ years of HR Generalist experience supporting all areas of the HR function.
  • 3+ years of HR experience conducting HR investigations.
  • Prior experience working in a unionized environment, with a strong understanding of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and union dynamics.
  • Related certification is strongly preferred.
  • Technically savvy, with a demonstrated ability to work extensively within an HRIS system.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with a non-profit organization.
