Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist at Mercury Print Productions will be responsible for overseeing various HR-related duties on a professional level. This role will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, and continuing education. This includes OSHA safety training and anti-harassment training.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verification's.
  • Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and leave (FMLA, Disability, Paid Family and Workers Compensation); disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, and other benefits.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assist as a backup in processing the weekly company payroll.
  • Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records.
  • Continuously work to develop skills / knowledge and complete all training required by the company.
  • Be a team player, communicate clearly and respectfully and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Be dependable, reliable, and consistently perform high quality work meeting company production standards.
  • Create a safe and hazard free work environment; follow safety protocols and report any risks.
  • Perform other duties as needed / assigned.
  • Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • At least 2-3 years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • Proficient use of the Google platform (Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience with Paylocity HR & payroll software strongly recommended.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Works indoors in a temperature-controlled office and may be exposed to loud sounds, hazardous chemicals, and equipment on the production floor. Must have the ability to bend, lift and carry up to 15 lbs.; sit for extended periods; complete repetitive tasks; operate computers (dexterity, bend, stretch, reach, climb, crouch, etc.); and communicate effectively.
