Job Overview

AECOM Water is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Civil Engineering Specialist to become a part of our dynamic team in Central California.

This role will contribute to the expansion of our Central California Department, focusing on fulfilling the engineering requirements of local Special District and Municipal clients, while also collaborating with other regions within the Water Business Line.

We are looking for a professional with substantial technical expertise in water/wastewater and various civil engineering initiatives. Our team engages in all project phases, including planning, design, bidding, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning: Involves preparing funding applications, conducting environmental assessments, managing right-of-way acquisitions, performing preliminary engineering studies, and developing basis of design reports and master plans.
  • Design: Includes creating construction drawings, drafting technical specifications, and performing cost estimations.
  • Bidding: Entails attending pre-bid meetings, responding to inquiries, preparing addenda, and conducting bid openings and evaluations.
  • Construction Oversight: May involve providing engineering services such as reviewing requests for information and shop drawing submissions or full construction administration, including inspection services.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Possession of a California Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in municipal and special district engineering.
  • Proven experience in design and construction administration.
  • Expertise in water/wastewater treatment process engineering.
  • Experience with water/wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Knowledge of storm drainage and hydrology.

Additional Information:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • This position does not offer relocation assistance.
  • Regular travel to project sites is expected (up to 25%).
