Position Overview
AECOM Water is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Professional Civil Engineer to enhance our Central California operations. This role will focus on addressing the engineering requirements of local municipalities and special districts, while also supporting various regions within our Water Business Line. We are looking for candidates with substantial technical experience in water and wastewater engineering, as well as other civil engineering projects. Our team engages in all project phases, including planning, design, bidding, and construction oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Typical duties include:
- Planning: Preparing funding applications, conducting environmental assessments, managing right-of-way acquisitions, and developing preliminary engineering studies and design reports.
- Design: Creating construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Bidding: Participating in pre-bid meetings, responding to inquiries, preparing addenda, and analyzing bids.
- Construction Oversight: Providing engineering services, reviewing requests for information, and managing shop drawing submissions, or conducting full construction administration including inspection services.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
- California Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in municipal and special district engineering.
- Experience in design and construction administration.
- Expertise in water/wastewater treatment processes.
- Knowledge of water/wastewater conveyance systems.
- Experience in storm drainage and hydrology.
Additional Information
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. Regular travel to project sites may be necessary (up to 25%).
