Position Overview

AECOM Water is seeking a dedicated and skilled Professional Civil Engineer to enhance our Central California operations. This role will support the expansion of our department, focusing on fulfilling the engineering requirements of local Special District and Municipal clients while also assisting other regions within the Water Business Line. We are looking for a candidate with substantial technical experience in water/wastewater and civil engineering projects. Our team engages in all project phases, including planning, design, bidding, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Typical tasks may include:

  • Planning: Developing funding applications, conducting environmental assessments, managing right-of-way acquisitions, preparing preliminary engineering studies, and creating basis of design reports.
  • Design: Producing construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Bidding: Participating in pre-bid meetings, responding to inquiries, preparing addenda, and conducting bid analysis.
  • Construction Oversight: Providing engineering services such as reviewing requests for information and shop drawing submissions, or full construction administration including inspection services.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in municipal and special district engineering.
  • Experience in design and construction administration.
  • Expertise in water/wastewater treatment processes.
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Experience in storm drainage and hydrology.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. Regular travel to project sites may be necessary.
