Position Overview

The Inner City Education Foundation operates a network of nonprofit charter schools dedicated to serving the South Los Angeles community for over two decades. With a commitment to providing high-quality, tuition-free education, we cater to more than 2,000 students across various grade levels, from TK to 12th grade.

Role Summary:

The Community Schools Coordinator plays a pivotal role in establishing a thriving Community School framework where students and families receive comprehensive support, and community ties are strengthened. This position is essential for aligning resources to address critical areas such as integrated support services, extended learning opportunities, health services, and family engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Oversee the coordination of resources within the Community School to meet educational and community engagement objectives.
  • Community Integration: Facilitate the transition of ICEF Public Schools into a full-service community school, focusing on integrated student support, expanded learning opportunities, family engagement, and collaborative leadership.
  • Resource Coordination: Identify and build partnerships with service providers to support the needs of students and families effectively.
  • Collaboration: Engage with internal and external stakeholders through meetings, workshops, and community events to foster relationships and enhance support systems.
  • Data-Driven Strategies: Implement and manage strategies based on data analysis to improve student outcomes, attendance, and overall performance.
  • Recruitment and Retention: Serve as the primary contact for families seeking enrollment, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing support throughout the enrollment process.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to fostering engagement.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Work Environment:

The role is performed in a moderate noise environment, requiring the ability to focus amidst frequent interruptions.
