Scope of Responsibilities:

The Building Attendant is tasked with the cleaning, sanitation, and overall maintenance of the facilities and surrounding grounds. This role primarily involves setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment for various programs and events.

Equipment Utilized:

  • Cleaning machinery, general sanitation tools, custodial supplies, and hand tools.
  • Cleaning agents for various surfaces including wood, tile, glass, and metal.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting across all interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Regular sanitation of facilities including restrooms, shower areas, locker rooms, fitness zones, and kitchens.
  • Assist with furniture and equipment arrangements for different programs and facility uses.
  • Ensure the removal of trash, litter, and recyclables.
  • Perform high-level cleaning in public spaces such as lobbies and entryways.
  • Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas including sidewalks and landscaping.
  • Carry out minor maintenance and repairs on building systems and grounds.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and materials.
  • Operate and manage systems such as lighting, HVAC, and fire alarms.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the facility's appearance and functionality.
  • Exhibit integrity and trustworthiness essential for working within a public trust organization.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular sitting, talking, hearing, and reaching with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision. The job may involve walking or standing on various surfaces and requires physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Working Conditions:

Work hours may vary, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The employee will be exposed to different temperatures and weather conditions.

Miscellaneous:

The selected candidate must pass a criminal history check. Prior convictions will be assessed based on their context and relevance to the position.

Education and Experience:

  1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Experience: 1-year experience in custodial duties and minor maintenance preferred.
