Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to management on a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiation, corporate governance, and employment law.
  • Assist with the negotiation of contracts, joint development agreements, supply agreements, and dealership arrangements.
  • Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to management and contribute to effective legal strategies and practical solutions.
  • Assist with corporate governance and management of corporate filings and requirements.
  • Support the implementation of our company's Code of Conduct and ongoing integrity training.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel as needed.
  • Provide legal training for managers and employees as needed.
  • Manage and support the business in cost-effective and timely resolution of business disputes and litigation matters.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in business/commercial law (in-house or law firm).
  • Undergraduate university degree and degree in Law (JD).
  • Licensed to practice in good standing in the State Bar where primarily located is required.
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills.
  • Practical, business-minded, efficient, and collegial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment effectively managing significant and multi-faceted workload efficiently.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, research, and writing skills.
  • A results-oriented professional with strong common sense, attention to detail, and solid business acumen.
  • Understanding of technical concepts and have interest in technology and heavy equipment industry, experience in resources extraction industries would be helpful.
