Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Experience Representative I to join our General Surgery team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients and families receive exceptional care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide positive and effective customer service, responding to routine inquiries and resolving complex issues with the support of your supervisor.
  • Patient Registration/Admissions/Discharge: Monitor clinic activity, prepare rooms for examinations, and record patient demographics, insurance, and referral information.
  • Scheduling: Schedule patient encounters and procedures, communicating with clinicians and supervisors to maintain efficient daily patient flow.
  • Administration: Answer and route telephone calls, record and forward messages, and provide routine clerical support.
  • Technology: Utilize office technology, including enrolling patients and caregivers in the patient portal.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in departmental and organizational initiatives, contributing to continuous process improvement.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic customer service and computer skills
  • Positive demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy in difficult situations
  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
