Job Overview

Position Summary:

PowerSecure is on the lookout for skilled professionals to join our dynamic projects across the United States. The primary responsibilities for the HVAC Mechanical Installer/Pipefitter encompass executing HVAC installations, which include Piping Replacements and Equipment Installations such as Chillers, Boilers, Air Handlers, Pumps, and VAV Boxes. Essential Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • High School diploma, GED, or completion of a Trade School program.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's license.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pipefitting industry within institutional, industrial, or commercial HVAC settings.
  • Proficiency in various pipe and fitting techniques, including screw pipe, grooved, compression, fusion, glue, sweat, braze, and weld, across materials such as steel, copper, plastic, and fiberglass, with diameters ranging from 1⁄2" to 6" or larger.
  • Hands-on experience in the demolition and installation of diverse commercial HVAC equipment and related processes.
  • Experience in sheet metal ductwork fabrication and installation is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with electrical and controls installation is a plus.
  • Ability to pass a government background check, drug screening, and other site-specific pre-access requirements.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program is beneficial.
  • OSHA 10 training is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites for extended durations as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the HVAC Foreperson and project team to ensure timely identification and scheduling of material and equipment needs before project commencement.
  • Interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and equipment submittals accurately.
  • Utilize construction plans to effectively layout and install HVAC equipment and supports.
  • Design, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and associated domestic water, hydronic, and pneumatic systems, which may vary in complexity, size, and pressure ratings.
  • Design, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain ductwork for ventilation systems, which will also vary in complexity, size, and ratings.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow directions.
  • Mentor apprentices in relevant work areas to enhance their installation knowledge, productivity, and safety practices.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and planning abilities; effectively allocate and develop resources.
  • Exhibit reliability, self-motivation, and professionalism.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and possess physical abilities for walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, handling, reaching, depth perception, field of vision, balancing, hearing, and speaking.

Workers may face potential bodily injury from pipe fitting equipment, tools, and materials. The work environment may involve exposure to various weather conditions, extreme temperatures, noise levels, and other hazardous conditions.
