Senior Internal Auditor

Princeton University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our team. As a key member of our Office of Audit and Compliance, you will play a critical role in promoting a culture of risk and compliance awareness across the institution.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and Execute Audits: Assess overall risk in audit areas, partner with clients to define audit scope and objectives, and determine project resource requirements.
- Design and Conduct Audits: Develop detailed audit programs, conduct interviews, chart workflows for significant processes, analyze processes, and apply critical thinking skills to evaluate risks and controls.
- Agile Auditing and Data Analytics: Demonstrate agile auditing and creativity in audit execution, including scoping, testing, and development of observations and value-added recommendations.
- IT General Controls and Data Security: Evaluate IT general controls that support effective logical access, change management, and data backup.
- Report Writing and Presentation: Prepare and present audit reports summarizing audit conclusions, observations, and recommendations.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead co-sourced audit and advisory projects, build durable relationships with campus partners, and proactively partner to reduce risk through solution-oriented approaches.
- High Ethical Standards: Represent Princeton University's commitment to excellence and demonstrate high professional and ethical standards.
- Experience and Expertise: 6+ years of experience in internal audit or public or financial accounting, or equivalent operational experience, with a demonstrated ability to analyze business processes, assess risks, and recommend controls.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of information technology general controls, data analytics, and business systems, with strong data analytical skills and technical skills.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding report writing, root cause analysis, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to apply agile methodologies to develop value-added audit and consulting reports.
- Education and Certifications: BA/BS in accounting, business, information systems, or related field, with current CIA, CPA, CISA, or other relevant certification, or commitment to pursue.
