This position is accountable for crafting and implementing strategic internal (and occasionally external) communication initiatives aimed at fostering employee engagement and managing change within the BIA organization at VetJobs.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned communications expert who exhibits sound business acumen and can collaborate effectively with mid- and senior-level leaders to create and execute impactful communications.

Success in this role requires strategic thinking coupled with tactical execution.

The selected individual must also engage in a collaborative and agile approach to best support the business.

Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:
Strong follow-through and stakeholder management, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and outstanding time management abilities.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee the creation and implementation of leadership communications and employee engagement strategies for BIA, working in partnership with department leaders and cross-functional teams.

Develop communications to support significant initiatives, including but not limited to strategic evolution, Inclusion & Diversity efforts, talent retention/acquisition, organizational restructuring, and content for key events such as town halls, leadership roundtables, employee summits, and talent campaigns.

This role will also manage content creation and project oversight for key internal leadership events, forums, and training sessions.

Provide change management leadership and facilitate employee engagement and acceptance of change to meet essential business objectives and outcomes.

Engage with functional leadership and employees across various sites to formulate and implement strategies that cultivate our desired organizational culture.

Craft executive communications for functional leaders and develop comprehensive communication roadmaps utilizing relevant channels and platforms such as events, newsletters, SharePoint or Teams sites, Viva Engage, and other communication mediums.

Generate and disseminate consistent communications for department-wide messaging to reinforce understanding, context, and anticipated outcomes of BIA strategic initiatives and events.

Establish strong relationships with individuals throughout the BIA network and with adjacent business or enabling functions such as Commercialization, Corporate Affairs, Human Resources, and Global Inclusion & Diversity.

Provide guidance and communication support for key strategic projects that may impact the department.

All other projects and tasks as assigned.

This role does not have direct reports; however, it will necessitate leadership and influence with cross-functional teams and peers to develop and implement communication programs and initiatives.

The Director of Communications and Change Management should operate effectively within a highly-matrixed organization, driving strategic communication initiatives aligned with broader company objectives to deliver high-value outcomes.

The successful candidate should exhibit creativity, initiative, adaptability, and the capacity to quickly grasp the business and navigate within a complex, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

Strategic, conceptual thinking and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Ability to translate strategic priorities into effective communication, engagement, and change management strategies.

Demonstrated initiative, ability to develop recommendations, secure alignment, and execute with speed and excellence.

Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within BIA, across the enterprise, and with external partners.
