Role Overview:
The Financial Operations Specialist will oversee the daily functions of the Expense Recovery Team, focusing on continuous enhancement of processes. This role involves drafting relevant policies and procedures, analyzing customer invoices, and ensuring the collectability of contractual pass-throughs. The specialist will also be responsible for generating financial and statistical reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the Expense Recovery Team. Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to maximize contract compliance and collectability. Continuously assess and refine processes to enhance expense recovery while maintaining strong customer relationships. Manage customer interactions related to pass-throughs, addressing payment issues, invoice disputes, and general inquiries. Analyze contracts to evaluate customer compliance and formulate strategies for effective collection. Facilitate resolution of contractual compliance issues with customers. Review and audit financial data and contracts to identify opportunities for expense recovery. Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate billing and compliance. Conduct timely expense and revenue reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and SOX controls. Prepare necessary financial and statistical reports, resolving any discrepancies. Coordinate and prepare for financial audits as required. Ensure compliance with GAAP when preparing general ledger entries. Propose and implement system and reporting enhancements in collaboration with IT and stakeholders. Address ambiguities by communicating inconsistencies to leadership.Expectations:
Proficient in accounting software, particularly JD Edwards and Microsoft applications. Advanced skills in MS Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts. Strong communication and customer service skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Capability to identify and communicate issues needing resolution. Solid understanding of basic accounting and financial principles. Exemplify Crown's core values in all professional interactions.Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification and/or MBA preferred.Experience Requirements:
Minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience. Experience in telecommunications, construction, real estate, or public accounting preferred.Reporting Structure:
