Job OverviewThe Bay Systems Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Satellite Data Assimilation Specialist to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects involving the integration of space-based remotely sensed data from hyper-spectral infrared spectrometers, microwave radiometers, and/or radio occultation from the GNSS-RO constellation.

About the RoleThe successful candidate will possess a strong background in atmospheric science, applied mathematics, or a related field, with expertise in handling large volume data sets, variational data assimilation systems, radiative transfer, fast radiative transfer models, and statistical analysis. Experience in at least one or more computer languages such as FORTRAN, C/C++, Python, UNIX shell scripting, Matlab, IDL, GrADS, RTTOV, CRTM, and ROPP is essential for this position.

We are looking for a motivated individual who can contribute to the development and implementation of advanced data assimilation techniques, collaborating with our team of scientists to achieve outstanding results. A Master's or Ph.D., or equivalent experience in a relevant field, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and research experience in atmospheric science, meteorology, oceanography, computer science, statistics, or a related discipline.
