About the JobRole Summary: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Satellite Data Assimilation Specialist to join our team at Bay Systems Consulting Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working on exciting projects that involve the integration of space-based remotely sensed data from various sources, including hyper-spectral infrared spectrometers, microwave radiometers, and radio occultation from the GNSS-RO constellation.About YouYou will possess a strong educational background in atmospheric science, applied mathematics, or a related field, with expertise in handling large volume data sets, variational data assimilation systems, radiative transfer, fast radiative transfer models, and statistical analysis. Your experience in computer languages such as FORTRAN, C/C++, Python, UNIX shell scripting, Matlab, IDL, GrADS, RTTOV, CRTM, and ROPP will enable you to effectively contribute to the development and implementation of advanced data assimilation techniques. Ideally, you will have a Master's or Ph.D., or equivalent experience in a relevant field, and a strong academic record and research experience in atmospheric science, meteorology, oceanography, computer science, statistics, or a related discipline. The salary range for this position is approximately $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
