Job Summary

Cordialsa USA is seeking a highly skilled Import Process Specialist to join our team. As an Import Process Specialist, you will be responsible for executing and controlling activities related to import processes and purchase settlement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective communication and follow-up with brands, suppliers, and individuals involved in the importation process.
  • Verify compliance with Customs/FDA/USDA requirements, ports, and carriers, among others.
  • Manage the import process by performing the following actions:
  1. Receive and verify the import documents (items, quantities, prices, expiration dates) and communicate and/or correct any differences if necessary.
  2. Send the corresponding documentation to the Logistics Operators.
  3. Verify the correct entry of the containers in the logistics operation, validating items, quantities, lots, and expiration dates on the entry support.
  • Settle imports in the logistics software and then make the entry in the financial software within 24 hours of receiving the warehouse notification.
  • Manage any issues that appear during the importation process across various platforms (discrepancies in quantities, damaged boxes and pallets, etc.).
  • Manage credit and financial notes that support inconsistencies in SAP and with Servicios Nutresa.
  • Inform the supply chain & logistics manager of inconsistencies in product labeling and cases requiring collective management.
  • Receive, register, and follow up with Brokers and Carrie's invoices in the logistics software, ensuring that a preliminary presentation and registration number is generated, which automatically reaches Servicios Nutresa for payment to the supplier.
  • Process import closure (Resettlement) in the logistics software within an average of 20 days after initial settlement.
  • Request the supplier to immediately send the necessary documentation (invoices and/or supports) in case of import revalidation.
  • Analysis and construction of the import value chain, calculating the costs after the import settlement, including unforeseen costs.
  • Negotiate ocean freight rates, drayage, and storage within the import process.
  • Coordinate cross-dock transfers with warehouses.
