Mission

Oversee and manage all activities related to importation processes and financial settlements associated with purchases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate clear communication and consistent follow-up with brands, suppliers, and stakeholders involved in the importation process.
  • Ensure adherence to Customs, FDA, and USDA regulations, as well as compliance with ports and carriers.
  • Administer the importation process through the following tasks:
  1. Receive and validate import documentation (including items, quantities, prices, and expiration dates) and address any discrepancies as needed.
  2. Distribute the necessary documentation to Logistics Operators.
  3. Confirm the accurate entry of containers into the logistics system, validating items, quantities, lots, and expiration dates on the entry documentation.
  • Process import settlements in logistics software and ensure financial software entries are completed within 24 hours of warehouse notifications.
  • Address any issues arising during the importation process across various platforms (e.g., discrepancies in quantities, damaged goods).
  • Manage credit and financial notes to resolve inconsistencies in SAP and with Servicios Nutresa.
  • Notify the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager of any discrepancies in product labeling and cases requiring collective management.
  • Receive, log, and track invoices from Brokers and Carriers in the logistics software, ensuring preliminary presentations and registration numbers are generated for payment processing.
  • Finalize import closures (resettlements) in the logistics software within an average of 20 days post-initial settlement.
  • Request suppliers to promptly provide necessary documentation (invoices and/or supporting documents) for import revalidation.
  • Analyze and construct the import value chain, calculating costs post-import settlement, including unforeseen expenses.
  • Negotiate ocean freight rates, drayage, and storage costs within the import process.
  • Coordinate cross-dock transfers with warehouses.
Decision-Making Authority

No direct reports or budget management responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Import and Export processes.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in Logistics Operations and Cost Control.
  • Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
  • Understanding of freight rates and networking capabilities are essential.
  • Proficiency in automation and information technology, including experience with 3PL WMS, ERP, TMS, ELD, DOT, and reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of USDA, HTSC, CBP, FDA, FCR (§§), FTA regulations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
Educational Background
  • Degree in Business, Administration, or related fields, or currently pursuing such studies.
Adaptation Period

Approximately 6 months.
