Position Title: Dispute Specialist I

Overview:

As a Dispute Specialist I, you will play a crucial role in investigating and managing debit card and ACH dispute claims, as well as processing Stop Payments initiated by our valued customers.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research on customer dispute claims by analyzing transaction records, account details, and merchant information to make informed decisions or escalate as necessary.
  • Execute credits and reversals based on the resolution of dispute claims.
  • Deliver exceptional support for inquiries related to disputes from customers, branches, and merchants.
  • Review pending dispute files to ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Process dispute claims in compliance with Regulation E and internal department standards.

Required Competencies:
  • Proficient in technology and internet research, with strong skills in Microsoft Office and financial software applications.
  • Understanding of banking operations, fraud investigations, and regulations pertaining to overdrawn accounts and risk management, particularly Regulation E.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills, capable of effectively resolving issues and discrepancies.
  • Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Flexibility in working hours with a proven record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational abilities, adept at prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial operations, banking, or claims investigations.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience in high-level administration or account servicing.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Status:
  • Full-Time.

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • None.

Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal travel expected.

Working Conditions:
  • Conditions involve minimal lifting, primarily sitting, with occasional walking or standing.
