Genex Systems is seeking a dedicated Energy Management Engineer to contribute to innovative energy solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


The Energy Management Engineer will engage in critical work aimed at supporting energy reduction initiatives, working collaboratively within a team under the supervision of the Energy Manager.

Key activities will include:

1. Participating in various data collection efforts, meetings, and teleconferences, ensuring effective communication through presentations and written reports.


2. Conducting thorough energy and economic assessments of energy efficiency strategies utilizing advanced modeling software and analytical tools, including the measurement and verification of energy conservation measures and optimization of HVAC systems.

3. Proposing suitable energy-saving strategies encompassing lighting, motors, drives, HVAC systems, and enhancements to industrial processes.


4. Executing energy audits (ASHRAE Level 1 & 2) to uncover opportunities for energy reduction across various systems including lighting, HVAC, building envelopes, water systems, renewable energy sources, and controls.


5. Reviewing design projects, which includes evaluating drawings, specifications, scopes of work, cost estimates, and requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring adherence to established standards.

6. Compiling detailed reports that present analytical findings comprehensively.

7. Analyzing utility rates and monthly billing, providing insights into historical energy and water consumption.


8. Carrying out building retro-commissioning tasks, which involve functional performance testing and monitoring of systems.


Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with three to five years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with two to three years of experience, or a Ph.D. is required.


The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, capable of articulating ideas effectively in both oral and written formats.

Proficiency in data analysis, particularly in energy modeling and simulation of complex building systems, is preferred.

Experience in consumer-side energy analysis, including energy efficiency, renewable technologies, HVAC assessments, and building load evaluations is essential.

A solid understanding of fundamental concepts for analyzing building envelopes, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and lighting systems is necessary.


Certification or interest in obtaining certification in relevant disciplines such as Certified Energy Manager, Engineer in Training, or Professional Engineer license is desirable.

Work Environment:

The position is primarily office-based (85%), with potential exposure to industrial environments that may include high noise levels and hazardous materials. Travel between various facilities may be required.

Essential Functions:

U.S. Citizenship is required. A valid driver's license is necessary. The ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting is crucial. Professional conduct that fosters productivity and teamwork is expected.

Appropriate grooming and attire are essential for the role, ensuring safety and compliance.

Capability to balance project scope, schedule, and budget is critical for success.

The work environment necessitates the ability to engage with individuals at all organizational levels.

Security clearance may be required.
