SAIC Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Full-time Air Traffic Control Training Facility Supervisor to become a vital part of our Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team, dedicated to delivering exceptional Air Traffic Controller training services.

Position Overview:

The Training Facility Supervisor plays a crucial role in the comprehensive management of ATC training simulation exercises and scenarios. This position involves collaboration with Course Managers and Lead Instructors, as well as overseeing the activities of contractor personnel supporting this initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creating and managing a training lab schedule, serving as the primary contact for any scheduling modifications.
  • Ensuring that all lab equipment is operational and prepared for scheduled use.
  • Documenting start and end times for training scenarios, along with specific data inputs necessary for simulation exercises.
  • Monitoring training positions to ensure equipment functionality and promptly reporting any malfunctions.
  • Assisting in the development of training scenarios.
  • Maintaining the operational integrity of the training facility.
  • Adjusting the lab setup to fulfill specific training needs.
  • Overseeing the management of training files within the lab.
  • Planning, coordinating, and directing the operations and resources for training simulation labs.
  • Developing and maintaining a library of simulation scenarios.
  • Updating simulator capabilities in accordance with training requirements outlined in the Annual Work Plan.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of simulation training documentation.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is committed to ensuring that air traffic control specialists maintain a high standard of safety and professionalism. A well-prepared Air Traffic Control (ATC) workforce is essential in achieving this goal. The FAA employs a significant number of Air Traffic Controllers who operate in various facilities, managing the safe separation of numerous aircraft daily. To support this mission, the FAA trains new air traffic control specialists and provides ongoing training for current personnel. Contractor-provided instructional services are utilized at FAA ATC facilities nationwide to meet these training demands. The scope of services includes comprehensive training and program support to effectively prepare students for certification as Air Traffic Controllers.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust clearance.

Applicants should possess at least a high school diploma (or equivalent) and demonstrate basic computer skills. A minimum of one year of experience in an Air Traffic Controller Lab is required.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in a contract environment collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (instructors, technical specialists, quality assurance inspectors, etc.).
  • Prior involvement in Air Traffic Controller training operations, with certification in either Terminal radar or Enroute simulation labs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven team-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Basic familiarity with modern technological tools (tablets, notebooks, applications, etc.).
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The displayed estimate reflects the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other relevant factors.
