Position Summary:We are seeking a dedicated professional with a strong desire to impact the transportation landscape positively. As a Traffic Design Engineer, you will collaborate with a diverse team to provide comprehensive engineering services and solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee traffic design projects, including the development of traffic signal systems, intersection layouts, ADA-compliant ramps, signage, pavement markings, and facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Employ industry-standard traffic engineering tools and methodologies to devise innovative design solutions.
  • Create design concepts, perform analytical assessments, and prepare detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Evaluate construction phasing and traffic management strategies to ensure project safety and efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Engage with clients and contribute to proposal development to support business expansion.
  • Assist in report writing and documentation to effectively communicate project outcomes and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a Colorado PE license and a minimum of 5 years of relevant traffic engineering experience. Candidates with a PE license from another state must obtain a Colorado PE license within 6 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated experience in multimodal transportation and/or sustainable street design projects.
  • Commitment to obtaining or already holding a PTOE certification (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer).
  • Established connections with local traffic engineering professionals and clients.
  • A strong interest in multimodal transportation planning and design.
  • Knowledge of innovative intersection and interchange design concepts.
  • Expertise in traffic signal design and timing, along with the ability to develop and analyze alternative design configurations.
  • Experience in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates, as well as designing work zone traffic control and construction phasing.
