Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Mount View Assisted Living. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to assigned residents and monitor their progress.
  • Direct and monitor the personal care duties and procedures carried out by Resident Assistants.
  • Assist Resident Assistants with direct care of residents, as needed.
  • Report unusual symptoms, daily needs, and progress of residents to the Resident Care Manager.
  • Follow the plan of care for each resident and monitor the performance of Resident Assistants in carrying out the appropriate aspects of the care plan.
  • Responsible for all aspects of receiving, storing, and distributing controlled substance medications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding the provision of care to residents.
  • Assist in problem-solving related to staffing, supplies, and resident care during shifts.
  • Ensure that resident care standards are maintained and that the rights of residents and preferences in care and treatment are respected.
  • Perform first-aid services and complete Accident/Incident Reports as needed.
  • Assist with service in the dining room for all meals and maintain facility standards for service and customer focus techniques.
  • Participate in Change-of-Shift Reports and ensure that care personnel of the next shift are brought up to date about the care and needs of residents.
  • Attend staff meetings and required or preferred in-service training.
  • Perform all job duties according to safety rules and practices required for this position.
  • Exhibit the highest level of customer service towards staff, residents, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current State license required.
  • One-year nursing experience preferred; experience in geriatric nursing preferred.
  • Organizational skills and ability to supervise department staff effectively and work well with personnel of other departments required.
  • Ability to communicate well (verbally and in writing), utilize creative problem-solving, and handle problems diplomatically required.
  • Ability to relate well to geriatric residents; respectful and caring attitude towards residents required.
  • Physical stamina for constant activity required.

Working Conditions:

Work throughout the building, subject to walking, bending, and lifting; direct communication with residents and their family members or visitors and physicians; desk work; and possible exposure to body fluids and infectious conditions of residents.
