Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is in search of a Practical Nursing Specialist to become a vital part of our Mid Ohio Pediatrics team. As a member of our nursing staff, you will be contributing to a healthcare system that prioritizes comprehensive patient care.

We are committed to delivering exceptional primary care services. This role encompasses both administrative and clinical responsibilities to facilitate the effective provision of healthcare and to enhance the patient experience.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday-Thursday from 8:30am to 5:30pm, and Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, including one rotating late evening until 6:00pm and occasional Saturday shifts from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate closely with the clinical team to ensure optimal patient care.
Encourage open communication among the care team, patients, and caregivers to enhance health outcomes.
Work with team members to identify and address care gaps (chart preparation).
Support improved clinical results and patient satisfaction while optimizing resource use.
Act as an advocate for patients to guarantee the highest standard of care.

Prepare medical equipment and conduct relevant tests as necessary, administer vaccinations, and perform routine specimen collection and point-of-care testing.

Conduct patient interviews to gather medical histories and concerns.
Record and monitor vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, height, and weight in the electronic health record (EHR).
Handle blood draws and specimen processing.
Assist in routine medical procedures as required.
Prepare examination rooms and patients for assessments, ensuring proper draping and positioning of instruments.
Review physician orders and lab requests, following up as necessary. Communicate prescription orders and refills as directed.
Relay test results to patients as instructed.
Support patient education using various resources, including educational materials and handouts.
Assist with necessary forms and patient documentation (including referrals, prior authorizations, etc.).
Respond to patient inquiries via phone as appropriate.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Licensures & Certifications

Required:
High School diploma or equivalent

Required:
LPN License

Preferred:
LPN License/MA Certification

Awareness of safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment
Skill in assisting with various treatments and medications as directed
Skill in measuring vital signs
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
Strong customer service skills and social perceptiveness
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
