This position serves as a vital link between patients, the Food and Nutrition Services Department, and Nursing Services, contributing significantly to the overall success of our food service operations and the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays during service hours, ensuring timely distribution of snacks and nourishments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Engage with patients to gather information regarding their food preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Relay all patient dietary requirements to the appropriate personnel within the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
  • Ensure that patients receive their nutrition care orders by providing suitable menu options.
  • Uphold sanitation standards by adhering to designated cleaning schedules and completing additional sanitation tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Manage inventory and restock pantries, refrigerators, and freezers in assigned areas.
  • Maintain accurate temperature logs for refrigeration units.
  • Understand and apply therapeutic diet protocols, seeking guidance from supervisors or dietitians when necessary.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure that all patients' basic nutritional needs are adequately addressed.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English is required; bilingual skills are a plus.


This position may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged periods of standing or walking. Additionally, uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
