Position Summary

The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role within the CFA division, serving as a crucial advisor to the business unit. This position involves engaging in significant decision-making processes and high-impact transactions, necessitating the ability to analyze and interpret extensive data from diverse sources. The role demands a high level of independent initiative in gathering information, conducting analyses, and presenting findings to facilitate informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the corporate controller to formulate the annual budget.
  • Generate both short-term and long-term performance forecasts based on insights from operations, service, and sales teams.
  • Identify potential opportunities and risks within the division concerning project expenditures and departmental cost management, providing valuable insights to management.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to align the team with the financial objectives of the organization and address hiring, support needs, and other strategic matters.
  • Develop comprehensive budget plans for each project, detailing start dates, completion timelines, and closure strategies to establish monthly revenue projections.
  • Create budgets, forecasts, and analyses for service, parts, and installation sectors to guide strategic pricing and business decisions.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively perform each essential duty. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project cost management within the construction sector or a similar financial role.
  • Proven expertise in P&L management and understanding its components.
  • Experience in financial forecasting, particularly in relation to project progress and complex operations across a broad geographic area.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems such as SAP or Dynamics Great Plains.
  • Strong analytical skills to dissect complex scenarios and identify optimal solutions.
  • Experience in summarizing financial data and effectively communicating through presentations and documentation to enhance financial literacy among team members and corporate leadership.
  • Ability to navigate the complexities of a global organization and manage dotted line reporting across divisions.
  • Experience interacting with all levels of the organizational hierarchy, from executives to frontline employees, tailoring communication accordingly.
  • Capability to develop training materials that enhance team understanding of their impact on business performance and create tools for tracking performance.
Language Proficiency
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, and regulatory documents. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from various stakeholders.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and geometry. Proficient in applying concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world situations.

Technical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Reasoning Skills
Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting complex technical instructions and managing various abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position require regular use of hands for handling tasks, reaching, and effective communication. The role may involve occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and requires specific vision capabilities.
