Chief Financial Officer Group Insights:

The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program (FMAP internship) provides an introduction to Bank of America and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group. The CFO Group oversees the financial management of our organization, including financial and regulatory reporting, balance sheet oversight, financial planning and analysis, treasury operations, investor relations, corporate investments, and taxation.

Internship Details:

The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week internship that emphasizes financial and management accounting, corporate finance, strategic finance, and internal treasury operations within the CFO Group. Summer Analysts engage in various activities aimed at promoting teamwork, fostering networking, and interacting with senior leadership.

Our objective for Summer Analysts is to enhance their academic foundation—particularly technical skills, industry knowledge, and familiarity with a corporate setting—while pursuing their career interests and backgrounds. Training and development are our primary focus, with extensive formal training provided at the beginning of the program, along with ongoing support, events, and mentorship throughout. Opportunities include, but are not limited to:

A Day in the Role

FMAP Summer internships provide Analysts with insights into the comprehensive financial management of our organization, including its vision and culture. Primary responsibilities may encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Forecasting financial and non-financial trends.
  • Developing models and conducting financial analyses of business investments.
  • Supporting the corporation's internal planning and management accounting functions.
  • Presenting financial data and analyses to business partners.
  • Assessing opportunities for process enhancements across the CFO Group.
  • Building relationships with finance executives and key stakeholders across various business lines.

Finance Management Opportunities

The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program assigns Analysts to roles supporting one of the teams within the CFO Group, which may include:

  • CFO COO & Governance.
  • CFO Data Management.
  • Corporate Treasury.
  • Global Financial Control.
  • Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets, and International Finance.
  • Global Technology and Global Operations Finance.
  • Regional Banking & Wealth Management Finance.
  • Staff Support Finance.
  • Strategic Forecasting and Expense Management.

*Intern team assignments are determined based on business needs and aligned with skill sets, thus cannot be guaranteed.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited institution. Eligible candidates should have a graduation date between November 2025 and August 2026.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Common fields of study include, but are not limited to:
    • Finance.
    • Business Administration.
    • Accounting.
    • Information Systems.
    • Economics.
    • Other related disciplines.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity, a commitment to operational excellence, and a focus on achieving sustainable results. Additionally, students should possess strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office, as well as exhibit proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
