Vice President of Business Growth - Addiction Treatment
Overview:
The Vice President of Business Growth (VPBG) is tasked with spearheading and orchestrating all initiatives related to business expansion and marketing strategies aimed at ensuring the growth of the facility, development of services, enhancement of member engagement, and fostering communication with referral sources. This role is pivotal in expanding service lines as defined by executive leadership through the cultivation and retention of referrals from healthcare professionals and other key stakeholders. The VPBG employs innovative tactics alongside established methodologies to enhance the facility's reputation among professional referrals on local, regional, and national levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and executes business development initiatives aligned with the strategic objectives of the facility to secure a competitive edge that drives revenue and profitability.
  • Guides a dedicated team through recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, motivation, training, scheduling, and coaching to achieve departmental objectives and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Engages in the design and execution of monthly, seasonal, and annual strategies to boost client census and assess outcomes accordingly.
  • Maintains an up-to-date record of primary account information, including business sectors, employee assistance programs, managed care clients, and healthcare professionals. Provides weekly reports to leadership on accounts and contacts.
  • Establishes and nurtures new account relationships and markets. Identifies and develops strategies to enhance business in competitive environments.
  • Builds robust relationships with key referral sources. Maintains a professional rapport with healthcare providers, community organizations, insurance companies, public officials, and other service providers. Proactively responds to business development opportunities.
  • Conducts community outreach workshops and seminars, as well as facility tours, to educate clients, families, and referral sources about the programs and services offered, while identifying potential referral opportunities.
  • Keeps detailed records of business development referrals and admissions statistics. Prepares and presents regular reports highlighting trends, additional referral opportunities, and challenges to retention and growth.
  • Represents the facility at various civic and professional events, effectively communicating the mission during all outreach efforts. Acts as a liaison between the facility, referral sources, and the community to promote the facility's goals and positive image.
  • Collaborates closely with discharge planners, social workers, case managers, and physicians to generate referral sources and provide education to staff.
  • Fosters strong collaborative relationships with admissions/intake teams to manage leads from referral sources, ensuring a smooth admissions process for clients.
  • Works with facility and division leaders to evaluate, analyze, and interpret market utilization data for service lines.
  • Analyzes market demographics, including population trends, age, gender, and race, to inform client population projections.
  • Completes monthly reporting, including the Business Development section of the Monthly Operating Report (MOR), as well as quarterly and annual reports.
  • Collaborates with facility staff and Regional Directors of Business Development to finalize the annual Strategic Plan.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in behavioral health, marketing, business administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in healthcare business development and marketing, ideally within the behavioral health or substance use treatment sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the local market and referral networks.
  • Proven ability to develop and nurture referral sources.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric and substance use treatment methodologies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and have access to an automobile as required.
