Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned process development chemist at the Principal Scientist level to enhance our vibrant team and propel our pipeline of groundbreaking targeted cancer therapies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in small molecule process development and manufacturing. This individual will utilize their chemical development skills across various modalities within the Immunome pipeline, including ADCs and radiopharmaceuticals. The role is pivotal in steering complex drug candidate process development initiatives, ultimately aiding patients in need.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Serve as a technical leader within the chemical development team, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Act as the technical lead on at least one program while also contributing as an individual technical expert.
  • Guide and mentor external partners in advancing antibody-drug conjugates, radiopharmaceuticals, and other leading programs.
  • Provide hands-on support at the bench level as required.

Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize knowledge and experience to develop and implement robust, scalable synthetic processes for small molecules.
  • Evaluate alternative synthesis routes to create efficient and cost-effective pathways to active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
  • Compile comprehensive data packages for the technical transfer of processes to external contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in synthetic methodologies for constructing complex molecules.
  • Conduct thorough analytical data collection both independently in the lab and through oversight of data from external partners.
  • Contribute to the drafting of relevant sections in regulatory documents (IND, IMPD, NDA, briefing books, etc.) and provide subject matter expert support for regulatory inquiries.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Implement integrated CMC regulatory strategies for pipeline programs.
  • Work closely with research, regulatory affairs, and CMC teams to ensure coordinated activities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with discovery chemistry colleagues to provide CMC insights on target molecules under consideration for future development.

Innovation:

  • Keep abreast of advancements in synthetic methodologies and new technologies to enhance our capabilities.
  • Contribute to the growth of Immunome's intellectual property portfolio.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory guidelines and industry standards for chemical development processes.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and address compliance issues proactively.

Requirements:

Educational Background: Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or a related field.

Professional Experience: A minimum of 8 years of industry experience leading small molecule, ADC, and radiopharmaceutical programs. Experience as a technical lead overseeing tech transfer and process development is advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to design cost-effective, robust manufacturing processes for complex small molecule targets and resolve intricate technical challenges efficiently.
  • Collaborative and open-minded approach when working with diverse internal and external teams.
  • Detail-oriented scientist capable of functioning independently at the bench while managing external partnerships.
  • Proficient in generating reliable analytical data using various technologies and evaluating data from external partners.
  • Skilled in writing technical reports and creating presentations.
  • Ability to foster cross-functional relationships with discovery chemistry and other pre-clinical teams.
  • Experience in leading technology transfers to third-party process development and manufacturing partners.
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements and ICH guidelines related to CMC small molecule drug-substance development and manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of collaboration with cross-functional teams in a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated history of innovation in chemical process development.
  • Ability to tackle complex scientific problems and make informed, data-driven decisions.

Salary Range: $157,000 - $177,000
