Position Overview

The Legal Recruitment and Learning & Development Assistant will support the Legal Talent Office in managing the complete recruitment cycle and educational initiatives, while also providing administrative assistance to the team as required.


Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the role, with additional tasks assigned as necessary:


Training Initiatives:

Facilitate the execution of the Firm's educational programs, which encompass summer associate training, orientation sessions, S&C Academy offerings, and training for attorneys at various levels, as well as client training sessions.

Oversee logistical arrangements, including managing invitations and feedback, duplicating and distributing training materials, and collaborating with subject matter experts and relevant internal departments, such as conference services and media.


Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Compliance:

Participate in programs and assist with the processes related to CLE-eligible training sessions and practice group meetings. This includes understanding NY CLE regulations, monitoring attendance, preparing remote participation codes, and managing paperwork for both internal and external CLE programs.

Support attorney compliance and registration reminders, and maintain web-based departmental resources, such as the training calendar and library of materials.


Legal Recruitment Support:

Assist the Legal Talent Office with all facets of law student recruitment, including creating candidate e-books, managing candidate databases, preparing correspondence, and supporting outreach and events.

Facilitate the Firm's summer associate program by assisting with onboarding, coordinating events, managing evaluations, and performing various administrative tasks as needed.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. Strong writing and proofreading skills are essential.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, enabling effective interaction with personnel at all levels, including senior attorneys.

The ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines is crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is necessary; familiarity with Micron, viDesktop, or similar LMS is preferred.


Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree is required. Experience in a law firm or a similarly dynamic professional services environment is preferred.

Work Schedule

This position typically operates Monday through Friday, with occasional requirements for weekend and evening work.


The salary range for this role is between $55,000 and $65,000. Compensation offers will consider individual skills, experience, performance, and other relevant factors.
