Job Title: Assistant Director of Outreach and Recruitment

Job Summary:

The University of Oklahoma is seeking an Assistant Director of Outreach and Recruitment to join our team in the Gallogly College of Engineering. This role will play a critical part in identifying and nurturing the next generation of engineers and scientists for Oklahoma and the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and build relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and other key stakeholders across campus to recruit the best and brightest to OU.
  • Travel and visit schools within OU Engineering recruitment areas, often for extended periods including overnight and weekends.
  • Communicate routinely through email, calls, in-person visits, and events with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and other key stakeholders across campus.
  • Create strategy, alongside the Director of Outreach and Recruitment, to ensure we are meeting the needs of the population of prospective students Engineering actively recruits.
  • Routinely present to prospective students, families, counselors, faculty, and staff to share the OU Engineering brand.
  • Assist the Director of Outreach and Recruitment in planning group outreach and recruitment events, including on- and off-campus events and individualized visits for schools and students, as well as setting weekly tour and information session schedules.
  • Develop recruitment communications alongside department and campus partners.
  • Support departmental and College events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 12 months of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with student employees and diverse teams.
  • Experience with SLATE or other CRMs.

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment.
  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Frequent sitting and standing.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs for accessing recruitment and outreach materials.

Supervision: When the Director of Outreach and Recruiting is out, there is supervision of 20 student workers. When the Director of Outreach and Recruiting is in, there is support of student supervision.
