Job Overview

Plano-Coudon is in search of a skilled Construction Project Superintendent to oversee operations within our organization. This role is pivotal in managing field activities, establishing and maintaining project timelines, and collaborating effectively with the project team to ensure successful project delivery that adheres to budget constraints, surpasses client expectations, and upholds the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage daily site operations, including subcontractor coordination and material logistics.
  • Oversee on-site labor, including direct hires and temporary staff.
  • Communicate project progress to all stakeholders and address construction challenges to maintain project momentum.
  • Implement and uphold personnel policies and procedures for all site workers.
  • Engage in preconstruction activities such as feasibility assessments, scheduling, and site planning.
  • Participate in project discussions or meetings to secure future opportunities.

Safety Management:

  • Enforce all safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with all site personnel.
  • Coordinate regular safety evaluations with external safety consultants and represent the company during safety inspections.
  • Ensure that all safety deficiencies are addressed promptly.
  • Manage safety data sheets in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Recognize the Superintendent's critical role in risk management.

Project Scheduling:

  • Contribute to the creation of project timelines, identifying key milestones and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Develop two-week look-ahead schedules and review them with subcontractor leads weekly.
  • Notify subcontractors of any scheduling issues or delays affecting project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers to apply necessary pressure on subcontractors who are not meeting project standards.
  • Provide schedule updates during progress meetings with owners.

Documentation Management:

  • Maintain daily reports, progress images, and organized project files.
  • Keep an updated set of contract documents on-site, including all modifications and as-built information.
  • Request and file subcontractor workforce reports.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all work performed meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Review approved submissions and ensure compliance across trades.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and document findings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction is essential.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $5 million and $50 million is required.
  • Experience in base building projects is mandatory.
  • Preferred experience in multifamily, laboratory, or healthcare construction.
  • A strong commitment to safety practices is essential.
  • Must possess a client-focused approach and strong relationship-building skills with subcontractors and partners.
  • Proficiency in Procore and P6 is highly desirable.
