Job Overview

The Assistant Superintendent – Level 1 collaborates closely with other Assistant Superintendents and the Superintendent at construction sites to ensure the organization, quality assurance, and compliance with safety regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees, reviews, and maintains project documentation.
  • Submits reports as instructed by the Superintendent.
  • Documents and distributes all meeting minutes related to the project.
  • Records all third-party inspections (Trade, testing, ADA, Green, etc.).
  • Manages and disseminates jobsite files and documents to field leadership.
  • Accountable for maintaining quality control on the project site.
  • Ensures that all As-Built drawings are up-to-date.
  • Collects and organizes Material Delivery Sheets.
  • Engages in pre-punch list and architect's punch list inspections, assisting with documentation and photography.
  • Conducts QC/QA observations as required.
  • Participates in pre-installation meetings.
  • Assists the Superintendent in promoting a safe working environment.
  • Distributes the look-ahead schedule for project planning.
  • Logs, shares, and manages safety-related documentation.
  • Engages in safety observations and inspections.
  • Facilitates safety orientations for new personnel.
  • Ensures all safety processes are documented, including lock-out procedures and hot work protocols.
  • Issues and resolves Safety Observations related to PPE.
  • Represents Southway Builders with professionalism and respect.
  • Ensures compliance with all quality standards.
  • Follows the project timeline to meet established deadlines.
  • Adheres to the company's core values of quality, reliability, and integrity.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, including assisting the Superintendent with site security measures.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma; a degree in construction management or engineering is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Exhibits humility and comfort with vulnerability.
  • Proactive decision-making abilities.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting.
  • Quickly grasps new information and complex subjects.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with Procore software.
