Key Responsibilities:

The Construction Project Coordinator will assist the Project Manager in overseeing project activities to ensure adherence to budget, timeline, and quality benchmarks. This role encompasses routine project administration, scheduling, and engineering tasks. The coordinator will plan, organize, and manage on-site construction engineering activities while maintaining effective communication with the project team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Project Manager on contract negotiations for designated projects.
  • Supporting Project Superintendents in implementing job site safety protocols, including notifications, signage, and necessary supplies.
  • Managing cost coding for various project components for accounting purposes.
  • Assisting the Project Manager with subcontractor and vendor contract negotiations.
  • Preparing submittal packages to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Coordinating bonds, insurance, and permits to maintain current and accurate documentation.
  • Facilitating effective communication with clients, organizing meetings, and completing contract documentation.
  • Drafting agendas and minutes for all project-related meetings.
  • Overseeing the Project Document Control System, ensuring proper maintenance and distribution of documents, including RFIs, project submittals, cost reports, and change orders.
  • Working with the Project Manager and Superintendent to prepare and update a weekly "Three-Week Look Ahead" schedule.
  • Reviewing subcontractor pay estimates and owner pay estimates prior to management approval.
  • Assisting in the management of cost reports and leading regular review meetings.
  • Identifying potential issues early and collaborating on solutions.
  • Preparing necessary information for project review presentations.
  • Executing job responsibilities while upholding Spiniello's core values.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of civil construction, earthwork, excavation, and utility projects. Strong time management skills and innovative thinking are essential. A willingness to learn corporate and industry standards, processes, and practices is crucial.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Experience in general civil construction, particularly with underground utilities (storm, sanitary, water).
  • Familiarity with grading, clearing, excavation, drainage, stream restoration, and design-build projects.
  • Prior experience in construction/project management or as a Project Coordinator is advantageous.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude; proactive in addressing potential challenges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with HCSS and Sage Timberline is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
