Job Description

The Procurement Specialist is a key member of the MPW team, responsible for the procurement and acquisition of goods and services that deliver near-term sourcing value and enhance processes to drive efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Acquisition: Collaborate with business units to acquire goods and services of basic to moderate complexity across one or more categories, ensuring high-quality materials are acquired within set parameters at a competitive price.
  • Tactical Procurement: Drive all aspects of tactical procurement, including cost reduction, process improvement, stakeholder communication, and quality and contract compliance.
  • Operational Capabilities: Help build operational, tactical, and strategic procurement capabilities, including spend and opportunity analytics, strategic sourcing, market intelligence, and strategy documents.
  • Supplier Relationships: Manage supplier relationships for various spend categories to drive continuous improvement and maintain category profile information.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the automation of routine tasks and activities, and continuously improve processes.
  • Data Analysis: Support sourcing process by extracting and analyzing data from various sources to effectively improve commercial decisions.
  • Financial Management: Work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure Early Payment Discounts are realized and suppliers are invoicing in accordance with their contract terms.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Complete various reports using Microsoft Excel, JD Edwards, or Business Objects, and report savings methodologies and calculations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Operations, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience, with experience in Procurement preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, problem-solving, adaptability, multi-tasking, analytical and data management skills, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Resourcefulness, drive, self-accountability, flexibility, and ability to work in a demanding fast-paced team environment.
