The Procurement Specialist is a key member of the MPW team, responsible for the procurement and acquisition of goods and services that deliver near-term sourcing value and enhance processes to drive efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement and Acquisition: Collaborate with business units to acquire goods and services of basic to moderate complexity across one or more categories, ensuring high-quality materials are acquired within set parameters at a competitive price.
- Process Improvement: Support the Sourcing Team in executing business plans against the sourcing strategy, driving all aspects of tactical procurement, including cost reduction, process improvement, stakeholder communication, and quality and contract compliance.
- Supplier Management: Maintain close relationships with key business stakeholders to understand requirements and lead procurement efforts from requisition to payment for various spend categories.
- Category Management: Manage supplier relationships for various spend categories to drive continuous improvement, maintain category profile information, and contribute to the automation of routine tasks and activities.
- Data Analysis: Extract and analyze data from various sources to effectively improve commercial decisions, work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure Early Payment Discounts are realized, and support data requests from the Director of Procurement and Leadership.
- Reporting and Communication: Report savings methodologies and calculations, complete various reports using Microsoft Excel, JD Edwards, or Business Objects, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Operations, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience, with experience in Procurement preferred but not required.
- Skills: Attention to detail, problem-solving, adaptability, multi-tasking, analytical and data management skills, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills.
