LEXUS OF AKRON-CANTON is seeking a full-time Service Advisor immediately. With our high volume of business, there are numerous opportunities to achieve a substantial income. Compensation is based on a salary plus a percentage of labor and parts sales. The schedule is Monday to Friday with a Saturday rotation. Previous experience as a Service Advisor is required. Familiarity with Dealer Built DMS is preferred, but training will be provided. A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a drug test are mandatory.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrive and depart from work according to your schedule and/or supervisor's request.
  • Welcome customers promptly and courteously, addressing their maintenance needs.
  • Ensure customer information is up-to-date (addresses, phone numbers, etc.) and always request an email address.
  • Review vehicle service history and inform customers about potential services or repairs needed.
  • Utilize all aspects of the MPI system and present recommended repair suggestions to every customer. Promote appropriate services and repairs to meet customer needs.
  • Inform customers of the estimated time and costs required to complete services.
  • Obtain customer approval for all repair orders before commencing work. Ensure customers sign and acknowledge all documentation.
  • Accurately document any agreed modifications to repair orders.
  • Notify valets when customer vehicles are ready for parking in the servicing waiting area.
  • Keep customers updated on the status of their vehicles and notify them when their vehicles are ready for pickup.
  • Prepare a Come-back Report for the second visit regarding the same repair and deliver it to the Technical Services Manager.
  • Address minor customer concerns; escalate more serious issues to management for resolution.
  • Make policy adjustments within the guidelines and budgets established by management.
  • Adhere to all Lexus warranty procedures and ensure accuracy of information.
  • Collaborate closely with technicians to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Monitor workload to determine the type of work that can be handled efficiently.
  • Verify repair order accuracy, legibility, and ensure all charges are correct and recorded.
  • Conduct end-of-day closing activities and cash out any necessary customer tickets.
  • Coordinate and communicate actions with customers, the Lead Technician, and management.
  • Report all accidents and any situations that could jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of associates or customers.
  • Maintain a "Certified" status in the Lexus Commitment to Perfection Certification Program.
  • Uphold a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance.
  • Conduct all business with honesty, integrity, and in accordance with our values and Code of Business Conduct.
  • Perform any other duties/functions as assigned by management.
  • Work effectively and professionally with associates, vendors, and customers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school; or three to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
