Position Overview

We are in search of a highly qualified and driven Senior Accountant to support the Accounting Manager in various facets of General Accounting, Payroll, Employee Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Accounts Payable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate recording of journal entries within designated responsibilities.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring thorough and timely reconciliations with clear explanations for any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the monthly closing process by preparing or approving month-end journal entries and addressing potential issues that may arise.
  • Provide detailed monthly and quarterly reports and analyses to both internal and external auditors, responding to periodic information requests.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation to support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and assessments.
  • Identify and implement technological enhancements and best practices in financial processes across the business unit.
  • Ensure adherence to HomeSafe accounting policies and business practices.
  • Support the Transaction Services department with transaction recording.
  • Perform various ad-hoc analyses and other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting.

A strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA regulations is essential. U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual obligations.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to research issues and propose solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent communication, presentation, and writing abilities.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of Costpoint and EPM is preferred.
Work Environment:

This position is fully remote, with HomeSafe providing the necessary equipment. Employees are required to have high-speed internet access.
