The Role

The Account Manager II - Inside is responsible for growing revenue in small to medium-sized customer accounts. This role requires developing long-term, consultative relationships within the customer base of accounts. The primary focus is to deepen and expand the relationship between Lumen and named accounts to maximize revenue and minimize loss of revenue/account churn.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Protect base revenue and meet/exceed growth quota to maximize revenue within assigned base of customers.
  2. Identify decision makers, determine customer needs, identify appropriate solutions, and position these solutions with the customer.
  3. Assess product fit and expand product portfolio through customer relationships.
  4. Update relevant customer information, including sales funnel activity, opportunity updates, maintenance of monthly goals, customer proposals, and customer contracts.
  5. Provide superior customer service with every customer interaction.
What We Look For in a Candidate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and 2 years of sales experience.
  • Prior account management experience with a history of working to retain and grow existing accounts.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical problem-solving, and closing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Preferred qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, a demonstrated stable track record of success in an inside/outside sales role, and advanced understanding of technology products and solutions.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location-based pay ranges are as follows:

  • $61,360 in AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
  • $64,580 in AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
  • $67,810 in CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
  • $71,040 in AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
