The Educational Solutions Sales Specialist serves as the key business development representative for the K-12 and higher education sectors. This role focuses on collaborating with educational districts to promote SMART solutions through the adoption of our innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

The Specialist will be tasked with developing a strategic territory plan that pinpoints priority districts and outlines strategies to achieve specific revenue goals.

They will introduce SMART's product offerings and guide districts from the initial concept phase through to revenue realization.

Identifying new funding opportunities within districts and establishing connections with these new contacts will also be a crucial part of the role.

Additionally, the Specialist will organize and facilitate significant events, including trade shows, executive visits, and channel training sessions.

They will contribute insights into strategic consortiums, training centers, and Department of Education initiatives.

Required Skills:

The responsibilities and skill set for this position include:

  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities and a strong desire to collaborate within a team environment, including working alongside the Channel Manager and Efficacy Implementation Manager.
  • A comprehensive understanding of SMART's products and software, with the capability to learn new SMART solutions as they are developed.
  • Proficiency in delivering presentations to large audiences, demonstrating confidence and expertise in both hardware and software as presentation tools.
  • A solid educational background or prior teaching experience.
  • A high level of technological proficiency is essential.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to independently acquire new skills are critical.

Supervision and Support:

This position operates in the field, working autonomously while receiving guidance from the District Manager.

Regular one-on-one meetings will be held weekly, and the District Manager will accompany the Specialist in the field throughout the year.

Working Conditions:

Successful candidates must be capable of working independently from a home office.

They must also be eligible to obtain a passport and be willing to travel as required.

All candidates must pass district-level background checks to work effectively within the K-12 environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

A degree in business, education, marketing, or a related field is required.

Experience as a former educator is highly desirable.

Proven experience in forecasting and achieving sales targets is essential.

A minimum of two years of experience in education or sales within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment is preferred.

Experience in engaging with educators and strong presentation skills are necessary.

Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with key decision-makers is crucial.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

Effective self-motivation, time management, record-keeping, and planning abilities are essential.

Familiarity with SMART products is advantageous.

A valid passport or the ability to obtain one is necessary, along with the capacity to travel extensively within North America.

Approximately 70% of work hours will involve travel.
