About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Surgery Department Coordinator at VCA Animal Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Surgery Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Client Service Manager and Surgery Department to meet scheduling needs and goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting visitors, answering telephones, and assisting with surgery drop-offs.
  • Manage the Surgery Schedule, including appointments, consults, rechecks, and surgeries.
  • Make outbound calls for follow-ups and reach out to prospective clients.
  • Present and explain fees, including processing payments, and create and present estimates for diagnostics and surgeries.
  • Recommend, select, and obtain products and services, including prescriptions.
  • Answer questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on emergency and specialty pet care.
  • Manage medical records, charts, reports, correspondence, appointment, and surgery logs.
  • Manage and monitor the surgery service email and facilitate responses.
  • Help with daily updates for inpatients, including financial updates and revising estimates to reflect treatment plans.
  • Manage and update estimate(s) binder as needed.
  • Consult with the surgeon at the end of each day to round on call backs.
  • Fulfill duties as a CSR or Specialty Coordinator at the front desk when needed.
