This internship is part of the DoD SkillBridge Program, designed specifically for transitioning active-duty military personnel. It offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional environment during the final phase of military service.

Internship Overview:
The selected intern will engage in significant projects and collaborate closely with a mentor and senior leadership within HII Mission Technologies. The primary focus will be on training as an Engineering Technician 3, where the intern will learn essential maintenance actions and responsibilities associated with Engineering Technicians supporting various clients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop skills to provide technical support on diverse engineering tasks.
2. Collect, maintain, format, and analyze technical data, including test results and design modifications.
3. Produce engineering documentation, reports, and drawings such as flow charts and schematics.
4. Conduct mathematical calculations and preliminary data analyses under established guidelines.
5. Utilize personal computers for analysis and documentation development.
6. Assist in testing and data recording to support engineering evaluations.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of the internship, the intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational dynamics within the Engineering department, including:
- Problem-solving through Work Authorization Forms and Work Permits.
- Coordination with trades personnel to address Reactor Plant issues.
- Testing and troubleshooting of installed systems.
- Application of safety standards and quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications:
- Active-Duty Military personnel within the final 180 days of service.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Navy Reactor Department.
- Secret Clearance required.
- Preferred Navy rates: MMN, EMN, ETN, or conventional MM, EM, ET.
