Job Summary
Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a Nuclear Engineer 3 to join our Radiological Controls Engineering team in Newport News, VA. As a key member of our team, you will provide engineering and technical support for the construction, overhaul, testing, and operations of propulsion and reactor plant components.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the design, development, and implementation of radiological controls systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, manuals, and reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for radiological controls personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
- Five years of relevant experience in nuclear engineering or a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
- Experience with nuclear reactor and/or steam plant operations.
